In July a total number of 50 teachers (25 schools x 2 teachers per school) were trained in ICT integration. This is a 12 hour hands-on training session where teachers are trained in the following:

  • New methodologies required in Mobile Education (the use of Tablets)
  • How to edit Videos in order to use it effectively for teaching and learning
  • How to use of Educational Websites
  • How to use the Interactive Whiteboard.

The first training was conducted from the 22nd to the 23rd June 2016 for 33 District Officials i.e. Subject Advisors and Coorporate Service Staff. This was done by IT Master and Vodacom as per our District request.  It was a training on ICT Technical and Content. Everybody was overwhelmed by what they experienced in that training, especially the integration of ICT in teaching and learning, content that can be downloaded and other related resources.

Career guidance17 September 2013 - August has been a busy month at the Lady Frere ICT resource centre. ICT leadership and management, interactive whiteboard training and career guidance were offered.

In various sessions different digital tools were explained to the excited educators. They learned about social networking, which can be used to engage with learners and allows sharing of ideas and best practices among educators. Also digital tools that could be used to create different lessons were showcased.

Audience20 March 2013 – By 31 March 2013 the e-Literacy Programme for Unemployed Youth through which 40 interns provided ICT training to schools in the Queenstown and Lady Frere Districts will come to an end. In a special closing ceremony the interns were thanked for their efforts.
