Lady FrereFinally, the Lady Frere ICT Resource Centre has started its first line SchoolNet courses in preparation for perfect and efficient centre management. So far only two courses have been undertaken already. Both courses were very successful, since they were in the hands of a diligent and experienced SchoolNet facilitator, Nomthandazo Gcaba.

1. ICT Resource Centre Course

The above-mentioned course occurred on the 31st of October to the 02nd of November 2011. The course focused on a range of tactics, skills and information on how to manage a successful Resource Centre. We can explicitly boast that 15 participants benefited from the course and all of them shown keen interest in kick-starting the project.

2. Sizanani ICT Skills for Community Members

On 3 and 4 November 2011 the selected ABET tutors were summoned in a common venue. The cause was Sizanani ICT Skills for Community Members. We decided to select 11 participants from ABET, since ABET works closely with the community and having centres scattered all over Lady Frere. Having this kind of model will enable easy roll-out of workshops and trainings to the general community.
