Graduation 400 4005 January 2014 - On Monday 6 January at 18h00 the Minister of Basic Education will release the National Senior Certificate (NSC) Matric results in a live broadcast on SABC1. From 6h00 on Tuesday 7 January over 700,000 matriculants from the Class of 2013 will be able to learn their individual results.

 

Live broadcasts

Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga will release the 2013 NSC Matric results from the M1 Studios at the SABC in Auckland Park Johannesburg. The presentation will begin at 16h00 with a briefing to outline the key technical aspects of the results. This will be followed be a live broadcast from 18h00 on SABC 1 and all SABC radio stations to announce the results to the nation.

On Tuesday morning 7 January, the Minister will discuss the 2013 matric results and the Department of Education's plans for 2014 at a business briefing hosted by The New Age and Transnet. This briefing will be broadcasted live on SABC 2 from 6h30 – 9h00.

 

Mobile and online access to individual results

The individual results for learners who wrote the 2013 NSC Examinations will be available on 7 January 2014 from 6h00. Learners will be able to get their results from their schools and examination centres. The results will also be published in major daily newspapers.

The Department of Education provides an online service via their website which is available from 6h00 on 7 January. Learners need to provide their ID number and exam number to gain access to their results.

SABC Education offers an SMS service for which learners can register until 31 January 2014. Learners send their ID number and exam number to SMS number 35658. This SMS costs R3. They will then receive an SMS with their results on 7 January.
