Workshop roomThe National ICT Core Training Teams convened at the Microsoft Training Centre in Johannesburg 1 October 2015 - From 15 to 18 September 2015 the Department of Basic Education (DBE) and Microsoft hosted the National Core ICT Training Team (NCTT) workshop for ICT trainers from all over the country at the Microsoft Training Centre in Bryanston, Johannesburg.

The theme of the workshop was “Using Technologies Optimally for Quality Learning and Teaching” and aimed to equip the core trainers with knowledge and skills around a number of ICT in Education tools and programmes.

The tools covered included: Microsoft Math, Skype in the Classroom, 2Enable, Digital Classroom, the Mindset Network, Office 365, UkuFunda Apps and the UkuFunda Virtual School These are all free offerings that can be used by teachers and learners to enhance education with the use of technology.

A large part of the workshop was dedicated to the review and presentation of the provincial plans for the implementation of ICT training for teachers for which the NCTTs are responsible.
