CAPS 21CAPS Radio provides live reports at education events. Here Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga is interviewed at the launch of Telkom ICT Classrooms. 28 July 2017 - Since of the beginning of this month everyone interested in educational matters in the country can tune in to online radio station CAPS Radio. The station provides an interesting line-up of discussions, live reports and interviews with the movers and shakers in all sectors of South African education.

With its programming the online radio station aims to reach “anyone that is interested in conversations around education, one of the most important social issues in the country” as station manager Katleho Mogase states, adding “where some shows are geared to speak more to teachers, others speak more to learners or tertiary students.”

Every weekday CAPS Radio kicks off with a Breakfast Show followed by a midmorning show. The programme offers the regular drive and other talk shows but Mogase reveals that listeners can also expect new ways of making radio.

The station’s on air team includes Zikhona Meso (SABC Channel Africa), Nathi Nkosi (Alex FM), Katleho Mogase (former Power FM journo), Lindani Mbense (SABC) amongst others. Some new voices that listeners can look forward to are Ntsako Mhlanga, Pheto Matshaba, Luyanda Chamane and Noncedo Zondi.

These presenters are supported by a news team and producers to bring the listeners in-depth education discussions.

CAPS Radio is wholly owned by CAPS Media , a black owned media company. The acronym CAPS is education related and stands for Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement.
