About the Centre

The Vodacom Tshwane South ICT Resource Centre in Sunnyside, Pretoria operates with the mission to “ensure that technology is harnessed to transform teaching and learning in Gauteng schools”. With the vision that e-learning expands opportunities for learners to do well at school and be ICT capable for the future, the centre team work according to the values of professionalism, teamwork, consultation, accountability and value for money.

The centre serves schools in a number of areas in the district, including: Mamelodi, Eersterust area, Estlyne, Pretoria East, Pretoria Central, Centurion, Laudium and Olievenhoutbosch, 

It also serves Tshwane Cluster school districts, and includes the community and out-of-school youth in its programmes.

Training Room9 Programmes offered by the centre 

Additional programmes offered by the centre include:

  • Curriculum Programmes: Google Maps, geographic information systems (GIS) Smart Young Mindz competitions, Pastel, Accounting, dance choreography software, Maths etc.
  • Fridays play time afternoons for officials and educators (Movie Maker, Photo Stories, Auto Collage, Songsmith, Mouse Mischief, etc)
  • SARS e-filing for staff
  • Technology Camps: School holiday programmes
  • Transport: Monthly reports on trip log sheets and monitoring of tracking system for trips taken.
  • Internet café

Opening hours

The centre operates from 8h00 to 16h00 during weekdays, including school holidays, and is open on Saturdays when this is required for specific training programmes. It is only closed on Sundays and public holidays.
