About the centre

The purpose of the centre is to:

  • Render programmes that improve the quality of education
  • Support teaching and learning
  • Solicit donations to provide relevant resources to support teaching and learning.
  • Assist the Department to produce good ANA and Matric results.

 The centre provides an appropriate range of teaching and learning programmes and resources that are made accessible to all targeted users, including: 

  • LAN and WI-FI internet connectivity
  • Internet connected computers for educators and learners to search for teaching and learning information, for teachers to getting more clarity for concepts used in their classroom lessons and for learners to get clarity of the concepts taught and also enrich their school projects and assignments.
  • Internet connected computers have simplified Physical science, Maths, Accounting teaching content for grade 10-12.
  • subject content videos for GET phase.
  • Siyavula Programme with grade 10-12 Physical Science, Maths and Accounting content with question and answers for grade 10-12.
  • Computers are loaded with ebooks to be accessed by Educators and learners.
  • CAO forms
  • Learners’ community youth access bursaries information and also apply online for them.

The centre has a library which stocked with fiction and nonfiction books to promote reading and literacy and provides a space for studying. 

The science room offers science equipment for educators to conduct science experiments and which can be loaned to schools subject to centre policy.

The centre has meeting rooms and training facilities which are used for teacher development workshops and reading events.
