map7 November 2013 - Vodacom and Read A Book SA have launched an e-reader programme, which uses information and communication technology (ICT) to advance and encourage a culture of reading in South Africa. Tablets with an e-reader application installed will be freely available for use at the nine Vodacom ICT Resource Centres.

Grades 4-8 are invited to write a poem about the SKA and Grades 10 -12 will have to think of a fitting name for South Africa's first cubesat.

Keep calm matric 201315 October 2013 - From 24 October, some 707 136 learners across more than 6 699 examination centres will be writing the 2013 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations. These "matric" examinations have made significant progress since the first formal examination was conducted in South Africa in 1858.

That was the challenge for 6 young scientists  in South Africa's first Science Slam. In 10 minute slam performances they took science out of the lab environment and presented its everyday applications.
