About the centre

Tubane Education Development Support Centre is situated in the village of Pitsedisuleyang, North West Province.

It forms part of the District Teacher Development Centres scattered around the country with the focus of providing access to ICT and the internet in rural places, thereby lessening the digital gap that exists.

The building used was initially a middle school which was renovated into a resource centre after the rationalization of schools in the Bojanala education district.

The local Kgosi and his Tribal Council from communities around the village of Pitsedisuleyang were consulted in the initial developmental stages of constructing this Centre.

The main aim was to ensure that the views and wishes of community members were also taken into account. Vodacom has since stepped in as the major sponsor of the project supplying most of the ICT infrastructure and hardware.

As Tubane EDSC we will continue to look into the future, searching for better methods to keep improving the quality of teaching and learning for our schools.
